The little stuff adds up. Nickel Pet makes the "no" feel like a win.
Most questions are answered below. If not, email is the fastest way to reach a real person.
Replies usually within 1–2 business days.
-
Is Nickel Pet really free?
Yes. Download is free, no ads, no subscription. Optional one-time purchases let you
unlock extra pet characters (Pico the Cat, Boo the Ghost, Emberlynn the Dragon)
and there's a tip jar if you'd like to support development. None of the IAP gate
core functionality.

Where is my data stored?
Entirely on your iPhone. No servers, no accounts, no syncing required.
If you turn on iCloud backup (in Settings), your state will sync to your private
iCloud — but never leaves Apple's ecosystem. Deleting the app deletes everything.
-
I lost my saves / progress. Can you restore it?
We can't — because the data never left your phone. Restoring from an iCloud
backup of the device (in iOS Settings → General → Transfer or Reset → Reset) will
bring it back if it was in the backup. The tip jar / character purchases are
tied to your Apple ID and can be re-downloaded via Restore Purchases
in Settings → Shop.
-
How do I report a bug?
Email
support@nickelpet.app with:
(1) what happened, (2) what you expected, (3) your iOS version (Settings → General → About).
A screenshot helps a lot.
-
How do I request a feature?
Same address —
support@nickelpet.app.
The roadmap is shaped by what users actually ask for, so feature requests
are read by a human and often become real features.
-
Why doesn't the app connect to my bank?
Deliberately. Nickel Pet is a friction tool, not a tracking tool. You log
the purchase you didn't make, you don't grant read access to your real accounts.
This is also why there's no "import transactions" feature and never will be.
-
Can my kid use it? Is it safe?
Yes. Rated 4+ for all ages. No chat, no social features, no external links,
no in-app ads. The in-app purchases are gated behind Settings — kids using
the main flow won't see them.
-
How do I delete everything?
Two ways: (1) in-app, go to Settings → Start over. Or (2) delete the
app from your home screen. Either way, it's gone for good.
