Privacy Policy
Nickel Pet · iOSAll your data lives on your iPhone, forever. Nothing is sent to a server we (or anyone else) controls.

The short version
Nickel Pet is a 100% on-device app. We don't run a backend, we don't have a user database, we don't track you, and we don't sell data (because we don't have any to sell). The only network requests the app makes are (a) the standard Apple App Store receipt check, which goes only to Apple, and (b) an opt-in iCloud backup to your private iCloud Drive, which only you can access.
If you turn on iCloud backup, your state (skip log, decorations, pet name, equipped cosmetics) syncs to your own iCloud using Apple's standard CloudKit private database. Apple hosts that under your Apple ID — we have no access to it, no ability to read it, and no server to log into.
Data we never collect
The following table is Apple's standard privacy nutrition label. Every row is "No, we don't collect this." We're publishing it here in plain English so you don't have to take our word for it.

What the app does store, and where
On your device, the app stores:
- The list of purchases you've skipped (title, amount, category, date)
- Your pet's name, equipped cosmetics, and selected character
- Decorations you've bought in the in-app shop
- Your savings goal (target + deadline)
- Achievement progress and any pet character unlocks
- Your settings (notifications, iCloud toggle, alternate app icon choice)
All of this lives in the app's sandboxed Documents / Application Support directory — the standard iOS location. Other apps can't read it. We can't read it. Apple can't read it without a warrant to you.
Deleting the app deletes everything. Settings → Start over wipes everything except purchased character unlocks (which are tied to your Apple ID and can be restored).
In-app purchases
All purchases (pet characters, tip jar) are processed by Apple via StoreKit. We receive an anonymized receipt from Apple confirming the purchase; we do not see your name, email, or payment details. Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Notifications
If you opt in to reminders (Settings → Reminders), the app uses the standard iOS UserNotifications framework to schedule local notifications on your device. These never leave your phone.
Widgets and Control Center
Lock Screen, Home Screen, and Control Center integrations read only from the app's own sandboxed data. They don't communicate with any external service.
Children's privacy
Nickel Pet is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app has no chat, no social features, no external links, and no third-party tracking of any kind. iOS parental controls apply normally.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change anything material — for example, if we added a feature that required a server — we would update this page, bump the "Last updated" date above, and call it out in the app's release notes. You would always have the option to keep using the previous version or delete the app.
